Privacy Policy
Gallery: Photo & Video (the "App") is committed to protecting your privacy while providing robust media management tools. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the App and its associated services.
1. Information We Collect and Process
To provide our core media features, customized alerts, and supported functionalities, the App requests specific device permissions and processes certain data:
Media and Storage: We require access to your device's storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO) to view, manage, and edit your local photos and videos. This includes using integrated tools to crop images or apply filters. We also use the SET_WALLPAPER permission to allow you to apply images as your device background.
Device Status and Phone State: The App requests the READ_PHONE_STATE permission to detect active and completed phone calls. This is utilized strictly to trigger specific app interfaces (such as an after-call media screen) upon the completion of a call.
System Overlays and Alerts: The App utilizes SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, SYSTEM_OVERLAY_WINDOW, and USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT to display content, alerts, or media interfaces over other applications or directly on your screen.
Advertising ID: We collect the Google Advertising ID (AD_ID) to serve targeted advertisements and measure campaign performance through integrated third-party advertising networks.
2. Third-Party SDKs and Services
The App integrates several third-party libraries and SDKs that automatically collect device, usage, and diagnostic data. By using the App, you consent to the processing of your data by these services:
Google AdMob: We use Google Mobile Ads to display advertisements. AdMob uses your Advertising ID, IP address, and device data to serve relevant, personalized ads.
Firebase Analytics & Performance: We use Google Firebase (firebase-analytics, firebase-perf) to collect usage statistics, screen interactions, and performance metrics to understand how users engage with the App and to optimize performance.
Firebase Crashlytics: In the event of an app crash, Crashlytics automatically collects diagnostic information (such as device state, operating system version, and stack traces) to help us identify and resolve bugs.
Firebase Cloud Messaging & Notifications: We use Firebase Messaging, alongside the POST_NOTIFICATIONS and RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED permissions, to send you push notifications and background alerts. The VIBRATE permission is used to alert you of these incoming messages.
Firebase Remote Config: We use this service to dynamically update the App's behavior and appearance without requiring a direct app update from the Play Store.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal media files. However, technical data is shared with our third-party service providers for the following operational purposes:
Monetization: Sharing device identifiers and tracking data with Google AdMob to display advertisements.
App Maintenance: Sharing crash logs and analytics with Google Firebase to monitor the App's stability and user engagement.
4. Local Processing and Technical Libraries
The App relies on several specialized libraries for local operations on your device. These libraries process your media files locally and do not transmit your photos or videos to external servers:
Glide and Media3: Used for quickly rendering high-quality images and playing local video files securely.
Android Image Cropper & Photo Filters: Used to provide on-device photo editing capabilities.
Room Database: Used for saving your custom albums, folders, and layout preferences in your device's local storage.
5. Managing Your Privacy
Revoking Permissions: You can revoke the App's access to your storage, phone state, overlays, or notifications at any time through your Android device's settings menu. However, doing so will disable core features, including media viewing and the after-call interface.
Ads Personalization: You can opt out of personalized advertising by navigating to your Android device settings, selecting "Google," and managing your preferences under the "Ads" section.
6. Children's Privacy
Because this App displays targeted advertisements and collects advertising identifiers for tracking, it is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, new SDK integrations, or operational requirements. Any modifications will be updated within the App's listing on the Google Play Store.
